When I was pregnant with my girls,  I loved going into those beautiful little children's boutiques and marveling at how sweet and comforting the environment was.  But the PRICES!!!  Ouch.  And for items that my child wouldn't be using for long, anyway!

     Then I would go to thrift stores and second-hand children's consignment stores and sales.  Well, the thrift store baby items turned me off because, although the prices were fairly reasonable, the items were often filthy and were missing parts which, as any parent knows, can make you nervous because it's YOUR BABY that's going to be using it!  Then there were the children's consignment shops.  Although some of the items were cleaner than the thrift store,  I didn't care for that "commercial" atmosphere.  And consignment sales?  What a zoo!

     "Why couldn't I have a place to go where I could shop in a luxurious atmosphere and have the ultimate in clean, safe items for my baby and NOT break the budget?! "

     My husband joined me on many of these shopping excursions, and he agreed.  He said," Why don't YOU create one?"  With his help and encouragement, on April 25th, 2005, The Evelyn Ashley Boutique was born.
